Mortar is the seal. We restore it before the brick pays for it.
Mortar joints restored — structural integrity and weather seal renewed.

Brick & Stone Tuckpointing — the honest version.
Mortar is the sacrificial part of a masonry wall — it's designed to wear out so the brick doesn't. When joints erode, water enters the wall, freezes, and spalls the face off your brick. Tuckpointing replaces that worn mortar with matched, tooled joints that restore the seal and stop the damage. It's the single highest-return maintenance a masonry homeowner can do.

How we build it.
Joint Assessment
We map every eroded, cracked, or spalled joint and identify the correct mortar type for your wall's age and load.
Grind Out Old Mortar
Mechanical grinding to a uniform 3/4" depth — deep enough for a bonded new joint, not so deep we cut the brick.
Repoint & Tool
Packed mortar in layers, tooled to match the original joint profile (concave, weathered, or flush).
Clean & Cure
Mortar smears removed, wall cleaned, and a 7-day wet cure protected from direct sun.
How long it takes.
A typical residential chimney or wall face runs 2–5 days. Full-house tuckpointing runs 1–2 weeks depending on access.
No pricing black box.

What clients said after this exact service.
"Jose and his crew rebuilt our pool deck in Oklahoma flagstone after the old concrete cracked for the third time. Three years later it's still perfectly level. They showed up when they said they would, every single day."
"Our 1960s brick chimney was shedding mortar. Jose mapped every joint on the first visit, explained why it was happening, and the tuckpointing match is invisible. Honest guy, no upsell."
Brick & Stone Tuckpointing — your questions
Why not just caulk the cracks?
Caulk traps moisture inside the wall and accelerates spalling. Mortar is breathable — it lets the wall dry. Tuckpointing is the only correct repair.
How do I know if I need it?
If you can scrape mortar out of a joint with a key, or you see gaps, cracks, or white efflorescence, you need an assessment. We map the wall and show you exactly what's failed.
Will the new mortar match?
Yes. We match the mortar color, aggregate, and joint profile so the repair reads as original. On historic homes we use lime putty mortar to protect soft old brick.
